Our dentists, hygienists, and office staff are all highly professional and experienced. Our job is to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
DR. ROXANA POPA
Dr. Roxana Popa is bringing over 15 years of experience in general, restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry to the clinic, being known by her gentle touch, and a great sense of humour has put the patients (and assistants) at ease right away.
She is an active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), Ontario Dental Association (ODA), Canadian Dental Association (CDA), and Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). She enjoys all aspects of dentistry with a focus on improving smiles through Invisalign® treatment.
Dr. Popa is an advocate of extensive continuing education completing a residency in Implantology and having completed mini residencies in Snoring, Sleep Apnea and Occlusion.
Outside of the dental office, she enjoys reading, travelling with her family, ballroom and Latin dancing (being twice the winner of “Dancing with the Docs,” benefiting The United Way Charity).
DR. STEPHANIE YAP
Dr. Stephanie Yap attended the University of Toronto for her undergraduate studies and graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Science with High Distinction. She then attended the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto to pursue her Doctor of Dental Surgery. During her dental studies, she achieved the Margaret & Clifford Zettle Award, Dr. Charles Hyman Moses Prosthodontics Award, and graduated in the top 10% of her class on the Dean’s list. Dr. Yap was passionate about advancing her dental skillset and completed a general practise residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Her residency was a rigorous program where she provided comprehensive dental care to patients with complex medical conditions, managed on-call dental emergencies and traumas, and received further training in oral surgery, and oral pathology.
Dr. Yap enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is a firm believer that better oral health leads to better physical and mental health. Her goal is to make you feel informed and comfortable before any dental treatment. Dr. Yap is committed to advancing her dental knowledge through continuing education, to provide her patients with a broader range of treatment options. She is an active member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Yap enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, biking, gardening, and playing board games!
DR. CARRIE CHEN
Dr. Carrie Chen (MSc, DDS) received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. She has also accomplished Oral Surgery Externship program at the University of Toronto. During her school year, Dr. Chen was involved with community outreach programs in promoting dental health to the public. She also enjoys going on mission trips to countries where access to dental care is limited. In the summer of 2019, Dr. Chen had the opportunity to set up temporary dental clinics in Grenada and provide cleaning, extractions, fillings, and oral health education to local residents with other volunteers.
Dr. Chen strives to further develop her skills and knowledge in dentistry by always participating in continuing education courses. Dr. Chen is currently a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, The International Team for Implantology, The Ontario Dental Association, and The Canadian Dental Association.
Dr. Chen believes that the patient’s health is her top priority and all patients deserve the best smile!
MARIANNE PETROPOULOS, DENTURIST
Upon graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a B.Sc. in Biology, Marianne was accepted into the Denturism programme at George Brown College. While attending GBC, she continued to take courses at UWO, which eventually culminated in her achieving a BA Honours Specialization in Anthropology. With more than 8 years of post-secondary education, she has developed an in-depth understanding of both the general and dental sciences. Marianne has been serving the Durham community since 2005 and has been an active member of Dr. Sciuk’s team since 2006. Marianne looks forward to working with you in enhancing your new smile.
